services indemnify farmers on losses of their animals due to

WHAT
TYPES OF ANIMALS ARE COVERED BY INSURANCE?
All healthy animals
shall be acceptable for insurance purposes.
For Cattle: Acceptability begins at 7 months
of life up to 12 years of age
For Swine:
For breeding stocks - acceptability begins on the 6th
month of up to 2 years of age; cover automatically ceases
at the end of the 3rd year of life
For fattening stocks - acceptability begins on the 9th
week of life; insurance automatically ceases when the animals
are sold for slaughter. However, term of insurance is up
to maximum of 6 months only
For Poultry:
Broilers - Beginning at one (1) day old; acceptability
terminates at the end of the 7th week of life or immediately
before the harvest whichever comes first
Pullets - Beginning at one (1) day old; acceptability
terminates at the end of the 22nd week of life or immediately
before its transfer to the laying house
Layers/Parent Stocks - Beginning on the 23rd week of
life; acceptability terminates at the end of the 75th week
of life or immediately before removal from the housing unit
